Maaliskuun ainoat lemmikkikuvaukset kuvattiin Kalevan Mustissa ja Mirrissä. Jos oli edelliset Sastamalan kuvaukset loppuunbuukattu hyvissä ajoin, niin sitä oli myös nämä, sillä tapahtuman kaikki kymmenen aikaa varattiin alle vuorokaudessa(!) pari viikkoa ennen kuvauksia. Näyttäisi siis hieman siltä, että klassikkosanonta ”nopeat syövät hitaat” alkaa päteä näihin järjestämiini kuvaustapahtumiin. 🙂
Päivä starttasi kahden noutajan, Mollyn (6v) & Linen (3v), kuvaamisella. Kumpikin hoiti mallihommansa erinomaisesti ja näyttäviä kuvia tuli reilusti. Saman voi sanoa myös seuraavasta havannankoirakaksikosta Lunasta (8v) ja Lolasta (6v).
Näiden kahden kaksikon jälkeen olikin 9-kuukautisen kleinspitzin, Yoshin, vuoro astua parrasvaloihin. Myös häneltä poseeraus sujui tuosta vain kuten alla olevasta galleriastakin näkee. Yoshin jälkeen olikin hieno jälleennäkemisen hetki, kun useista mainoksistanikin tuttu lancashirenkarjakoira Kevin (nyt 3,5v.) tuli kahden kaverinsa kanssa kuvattavaksi. Kaverukset olivat 4,5-kuukautinen kettuterrieri Johan sekä 8,5-vuotias länsigöötanmaanpystykorva Nysä. Vaikka kolmikolla vauhtia riittikin, saimme ikuistettua kaikki kolme myös hauskaan ryhmäkuvaan.
Seuraavaksi pääsin ensimmäistä kertaa näkemään ja kuvaamaan kooikerhondjea, kun 6,5-vuotias, ihanan valokuvauksellinen Beni asteli tilapäisstudiooni. Vielä ennen lounastaukoani kuvattavakseni saapui noin vuoden ikäinen norwichinterrieri Bruno ja taisipa myös Bruno olla ensimmäinen norwichinterrieri, jota olen päässyt kuvaamaan. Eli näissä kuvauksissa tuli useampikin ”eka kerta”, sillä aiemmin mainituista myöskään länsigöötanmaanpystykorvia en ollut aiemmin kuvannut.
Lounas meni kurkusta alas sellaisella vauhdilla, että ehdin pikaisesti taukoni aikana ottaa myös henkilökunnan omista lemmikeistä muutaman kuvan ja tuloksena olikin mm. varsin mielenkiintoinen ryhmäkuva kahdesta whippetistä, Seelasta (2v) ja Jojosta (18 kk) sekä puolivuotiaasta englanninvinttikoira-Milasta.
Päivän päätteeksi kuvattavakseni tuli vielä 7-vuotias puudeli Simba, 14-vuotias kääpiömäyräkoira Nikke sekä vuoden ikäinen barbet Joppe. Ja kuten hyvin päivän teemaan sopi, en ollut myöskään barbeteja aiemmin kuvannut, joten siitä yksi lisäsulka hattuuni myöskin. 🙂
Kuvauskalustosta taas tuttuun tapaan lyhyet kommentit. Kamerana käytin OM System OM-5:sta ja lasina kameran nokalla oli Olympus M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 PRO IS. Valoina käytin kahta Godox AD200:sta ja muutamassa kuvassa lisäksi mukana oli kaksi Godox TT350o -pikkusalamaa. Taustana tottakai harmaa taustakartonki ja muutamassa kuvassa musta kokoontaittuva tausta.
I organized only one pet photography event in March and it was in Musti & Mirri Kaleva. And just like the previous event before this one, also this event was fully booked weeks in advance. And in fact all ten time slots were booked in less than 24 hours which is insane really.
The event began with two retrievers, Molly (6 years old) and Line (3) and they both did an amazing job. One could same the exact same thing about the next couple which was a Havanese duo Luna (8) and Lola (6).
After the two pairs it was time for a 9-month-old kleinspitz, Yoshi. And as you can see from the gallery below he seemed to be a professional model as well. Next up was one of my all-time favorite models Kevin the Lancashire Heeler. I’ve used a photo of him in many ads and I still feel that photo is amongst the best I’ve taken.
This time Kevin didn’t come alone as he had two other cuties with him: a 4,5-month-old fox terrier Johan and a 8,5-year-old Swedish Vallhund Nysä. The trio didn’t slow down much and despite with somewhat hectic set we did manage to capture them all in a single photo (without resorting to composites). 🙂
Then it was time for my first kooikerhondje (not sure about the English name though), 6,5-year-old Beni who was sooooo handsome and photogenic. I still had time for one more model before my lunchbreak and it was another ”first” as I had never before shot a Norwich Terrier. Bruno was about a year old and he was also a joy to photograph. And before I forget, Nysä (who I mentioned before) was also my first ever Swedish Vallhund I’ve photographed so it seemed like there was a theme of new breeds for this event – which is always fun.
I didn’t waste time with my lunch and therefore had a few minutes of spare time and decided to make most of it. One staff member of the pet store had her dogs with her so I asked if I could photograph them quickly. I’ll have to admit the photos we got weren’t exactly what I had in mind but they did turn out very amusing and different – as you can probably see from the group shot of the two whippets (Seela, 2 & Jojo, 1,5) and greyhound Mila (~6 months old) below! 😀
I finished the event with photographing a 7-year-old poodle Simba, 14-year-old miniature dachshund Nikke and a-year-old barbet Joppe. I hadn’t photographed a barbet before either so it was a continuation of the ”first ever”-theme and a suitable finish.
I’ll just quickly mention the gear I used. OM System OM-5 was the camera body and Olympus M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 PRO IS the lens I used. The lighting was done with two Godox AD200s and I opted to use some extra light for some shots and those were provided by two Godox TT350 speedlights. And the backdrop I mainly used was the old, reliable grey paper roll but I also used a collapsible black backdrop for a handful of shots.
