Studiovalaisimet Godox AD200 (2 kpl) saivat hieman apua muutamaan kuvaan Godox TT685o -käsisalamasta. AD200:iin olin liittänyt perinteiseen tapaan sateenvarjon (mallin yllä) ja Sundisc-softboxin (kameran vieressä).

This year’s first pet photography event was held in a familiar location: the local pet store called Käpäläväki. It felt good to be back shooting after taking a ~10 week break from photography.

I had the pleasure of photographing ten different models during the day and the age of my models varied from 8 weeks to 9 years. The first two models were ”old acquaintances” as we used to live a couple of blocks away from them for a few years and our Bernese Mountain Dog Pinja was a good friend of the first model, Hertta (a 7-year-old Berner). Hertta brought her ”sister” along and Taika (a 4-year-old Collie) joined her for a lovely family photo as well. It was so nice to see them both again after a long time.

After these two I had a bigger family to shoot: three gorgeous Finnish Laphunds (Nalle, Nekku & Rilli). I photographed them too as a group and also separately. Then came an 11-month-old Poodle called Pipsa. And she was followed by the youngest of them all: an 8-week-old Labrador Retriever Stigu. Oh boy the cuteness he brought to the set… Such a heartbreaker. 🙂

A 2-year-old mixed breed Musti was next in line and he was followed by the two +70 kg Newfoundland dogs Pekko & Samu. I guess the weight of the two ”giant-sized” models was a bit too much for my backdrop paper as it was full of scratch marks and I had to cut out ~1,5 meters after I got home. 😀

Like for all my studio pet photography I used my Olympus E-M5III camera and the M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 PRO lens. My main lights were once again two Godox AD200s and they were accompanied by my Godox TT685o for some shoots where I needed additional light. One AD200 had a shoot-through umbrella in front and was placed above the models and the other AD200 had the Sundisc’s round softbox attached. And that one was standing next to the camera to create a nice little catchlight in the eyes and light up the faces.
